Tuscaloosa Police SWAT Breaches Hotel Room After Man Refused to Let Woman Leave
The Tuscaloosa Police Department's SWAT Team forcefully breached into a hotel room in Alberta Saturday afternoon after a man inside reportedly refused to allow a woman who was with him to leave.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for TPD, said officers were called to the Old English Inn on University Boulevard at 11:37 a.m. Saturday.
A woman in one of the motel rooms said the man she was with refused to let her leave and she was afraid for her safety.
Taylor said the SWAT team responded around 12:30 and established contact with the man who spoke to them for some time but eventually stopped responding.
TPD's SWAT team breached the hotel room door at 1:25 p.m. and took 60-year-old Robert Hardin Eatmon into custody. The woman was uninjured, Taylor said.
Eatmon, a Tuscaloosa man, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail where his bond was set at $1.000.
