Tuscaloosa Police Charge 19-Year-Old with Friday Murder of Ex

Tuscaloosa police have arrested a 19-year-old man who turned himself in to law enforcement in Aliceville after the Friday night shooting death of a teenage girl outside a Tuscaloosa club.

Christian Jermaine Hall, 19, of Tuscaloosa County, was taken into custody early Sunday morning.

He is charged with capital murder and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond until a hearing with a judge to decide if one should be granted. Many who are charged with capital murder are jailed until the conclusion of their case through plea or trial.

The victim, a minor, was shot around 10 p.m. Friday in or near the parking lot of Spades, a restaurant, lounge and club in the 1700 block of Culver Road. She was taken to a DCH Regional Medical Center, where she died. Police have not released her name or any identifying information due to her juvenile status.

Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit determined she was allegedly attacked in the parking lot by an ex-boyfriend, Hall, who shot her and then fled the scene.

Tuscaloosa Police and VCU investigators worked with partnering agencies, including federal agents, to locate Hall in the days after the shooting without releasing his name or identifying details to the public.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the VCU, said Hall turned himself in to Aliceville Police early this morning.

By the count of the Tuscaloosa Thread staff, the teenager's fatal shooting in the 13th homicide the VCU has investigated within Tuscaloosa County in 2026.
