Deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a seemingly unfounded threat was made against Duncanville Middle School Friday - the second such incident there this week.

As the Thread previously reported, one juvenile has already been arrested and charged criminally after they allegedly sent an email to staff at the school threatening to "blow it up" on Wednesday.

On Friday morning, Duncanville Middle School was again placed under a secure perimeter, and no one was allowed to enter or leave the building, although classes were still being conducted within.

Sgt. Josh Hastings, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, said this is unrelated to the Wednesday bomb threat.

Hastings told the Thread that Friday morning at about 8 a.m., staff at the middle school notified an SRO working there of a new and separate threat. TCSO sent their Criminal Investigations Division to the school, and Hastings said their work was still underway late Friday morning.

These threats are a major disruption, though, and illegal under Alabama law - Hastings said CID is likely to identify the culprit responsible, and criminal charges are likely to follow.
