Troopers said Collins was driving a 2018 Ford Explorer on Fayette County Road 26 when it left the roadway, struck a ditch and then a tree before catching fire.

Troopers said Collins was not wearing a seat belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened near Vick Road, roughly eight miles southeast of Fayette and roughly 35 miles north of Tuscaloosa.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are still investigating. ALEA said nothing further is available.
