Heavy Rain Threat Sparks Flood Watch for Portions of Alabama
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, “Heavy thunderstorms are forecast from this afternoon to early Thursday morning.” This has prompted a “FLOOD WATCH” for portions of Alabama.
The Flood Watch is from today at 4 p.m. through Thursday, May 7, at 7 a.m.
There are concerns that this weather system could bring several inches of rainfall to portions of West and Central Alabama.
“These storms will be very efficient rain producers, and some flash flooding problems could very well develop,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist.
