The match is already set to be a historic one for many.

Jalen Hurts is set to make history with Patrick Mahomes as the first pair of black starting quarterbacks in Super Bowl history. Hurts will also be the first Alabama QB to start in the Super Bowl since the 70s.

Reunited with his former college QB, DeVonta Smith isn't being left out of the history-making conversations.

Smith is already in the Alabama history books as the 4th Heisman Trophy winner in 2020 and then went on to grab 12 catches, 215 yards and three touchdowns in the CFB title game win against Ohio State.

Now, with the Super Bowl right around the corner, DeVonta Smith could etch his name in the books once again by being the 5th player in history to win a National Championship in college, the Heisman Trophy, and a Super Bowl.

According to Fan Sided, only USC’s Marcus Allen and Reggie Bush, Michigan’s Charles Woodson, and Pitt’s Tony Dorsett are the only ones to have hoisted all three of those trophies.  with a Super Bowl win, DeVonta Smith would be the first ever for Alabama.

DeVonta Smith is in his second season with the Philadelphia Eagles and his first-ever Super Bowl appearance. In true Alabama fashion, he's not completely satisfied with that as the overall goal is to win a ring.

We will see if DeVonta Smith will once again make Alabama history on Sunday, February 12, 2023, starting at 5:30 p.m. CT.
