Christmas Tree Sale to Return to Tuscaloosa Late This Month At 2023 Prices
A beloved holiday tradition will return to Tuscaloosa later this month as the YMCA Men's Club brings its annual Christmas Tree sale back to a parking lot in the heart of town.
Dan Tidwell, the club's Christmas Tree chairman, said they will once again offer pristine Frazier fir trees between 6 and 12 feet tall cut from the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina.
The 2024 sale begins on Wednesday, November 27th, the day before Thanksgiving, and during a time when it's hard to find any part of life untouched by inflation, Tidwell said the club will not be raising prices for the trees this year.
“We were very pleased with the quality of last year’s trees and that there will be no price increases, so shop early!” Tidwell said.
As usual, the Men's Club will host the tree sale in the parking lot of the Bowlero Bowling Center, which is almost unrecognizable from a few years ago thanks to the bowling alley, a brand-new Chick-fil-A and just-finished renovations at Snow Hinton Park.
They'll be set up on Wednesday, November 27th from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., then return on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th for the same hours.
Going forward, the lot will be manned on Sunday through Friday from noon. until 8 p.m. and for a longer shirt, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., on Saturdays.
Tidwell said sales support the Tuscaloosa YMCA and fund programming including youth sports, senior fitness programs and scholarships for children to attend Day Camps.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The YMCA Men's Club has elected to start the sale earlier than anticipated, launching on Wednesday the 27th instead of Friday the 29th. They have also decided to open one hour earlier each day. Changes to the schedule have been denoted in bold.
