County’s New Synergic Center to Host First Celebration of America’s 250th
Tuscaloosa County will host their first of many celebrations of American history and freedom with a Christmas event next week at their new Synergic Center.
Next year's Fourth of July will mark the nation's 250th birthday and declaration of independence from England, and commemorative events are being planned all over the county, state and country.
The first local observance is just around the corner, planned for this Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Synergic Center on 3650 5th Street near Kentuck Park in Northport.

As the Thread reported when it first opened, the Center is a huge, collaborative space for government and law enforcement, which took over a former large-scale call center on 5th Street.
This Tuesday, county officials will host their Eve of Liberty Christmas during an event that coincides with Dickens Downtown happening just down the street in Northport. Folks can park at the Synergic Center and catch both with a free shuttle to the festive family favorite.
"Visitors will have an opportunity to explore Heritage Hall and Freedom Hall, learning about our community and nation’s history through interactive digital displays," a county spokesperson said in an announcement.
They'll also have cookies and cocoa on hand for those who stop by.
