New Heights Foundation Receives $75,000 Gift to Support Tuscaloosa Families
A Tuscaloosa nonprofit that serves students and families in the city school system has received a $75,000 donation to expand its community resource programs.
Tuscaloosa City Schools' New Heights Foundation received the gift from Boost Giving, a privately funded family initiative that provides grants to small nonprofits addressing essential needs in local communities.
The funds will support the New Heights Community Resource Center's wraparound services, which connect families with health care, mental health services, academic support, homelessness prevention and youth development programs.

The TCS center served 1,906 families, 6,985 individuals and 4,843 students during the past year, TCS said. It also distributed more than 95,700 pounds of food to local families during the 2025-26 school year.
"We are deeply grateful for Boost Giving's incredible support, which will allow us to expand our impact throughout the greater Tuscaloosa community," said Kalissa Bormann, zone manager for New Heights. "When families experience stability at home, students benefit through improved attendance, stronger academic performance and healthier social-emotional development."
TCS Superintendent Mike Daria said the donation reflects the kind of partnership that makes the center's work possible.
"We are proud and grateful to have partners like Boost Giving who invest in the mission of New Heights," said Daria. "Their generosity allows us to continue making a meaningful impact on the students and families we serve."For more information or to donate, visit newheightstuscaloosa.org.
