City of Tuscaloosa to Accept Live Trees, Light Strands for Disposal After Christmas
The city of Tuscaloosa will accept and dispose of live trees and strands of decorative lights after Christmas, they announced Monday.
They will host a free recycling station, where municipal crews will accept live trees and other greenery for disposal from December 26th until January 6th.

The city will take drop-offs at the Curry Environmental Services Facility at 3440 Reese Phifer Avenue. Greenery can be dropped off at any time, but should be stripped of decorations and lights.
In addition to the live trees and plants, there will be marked containers on site where you can drop off holiday lights for recycling.
The city will not take artificial trees at the facility and recommends that anyone looking to dispose of them contact thrift stores or nonprofits to see who will accept them.
There will also be a collection trailer for holiday garbage, like wrapping paper, and an extra cardboard recycling bin for waste from gifts.
