One More Alabama Linebacker Enters the Transfer Portal
Junior Alabama linebacker Shane Lee has entered the Transfer Portal according to Rivals. Lee was a four-star off-ball linebacker from the Crimson Tide's 2019 recruiting class out of Baltimore.
During his three-year career in Tuscaloosa, Lee recorded 95 total tackles, eight for loss including six sacks as well as three forced fumbles and an interception. Lee saw most of his playing time in 2019 due to season-ending knee injuries to presumptive starters Dylan Moses and Joshua McMillon. Lee started all 13 games for the Tide that season next to fellow freshman Christian Harris.
In 2020, when Moses returned from injury Lee transitioned to a reserve role defensively with the bulk of his time on special teams. However, when Moses or Harris missed time Jaylen Moody would often get the defensive reps. The same was the case in 2021 with Henry To'o To'o at mike linebacker.
Lee makes eleven total players from Alabama in the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2021 season Monday night. There's no immediate indication where Lee could play football next, the six-foot, 240lbs linebacker was shown quite the interest from Big 10 programs during his initial recruitment.
