Both Candidates for Governor, Jones & Tuberville, Will Visit Tuscaloosa Next Week
Both candidates for governor of Alabama will be in Tuscaloosa next week, two days apart.
Democrat Doug Jones takes questions at a town hall on the University of Alabama campus Monday, October 19. Republican Tommy Tuberville holds a meet and greet downtown Wednesday, October 21.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

Monday: Jones at North Lawn Hall
The Jones town hall begins at 5:30 p.m. in Room 100 of North Lawn Hall, 221 Hackberry Lane on the UA campus.
It is presented by the Kappa Alpha and Theta Alpha Lambda chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. along with the UA College Democrats. Registration is available at mobilize.us/dougforalabama.
The flyer carries a disclaimer from Alpha Phi Alpha noting that the fraternity is nonpartisan, does not endorse either side, and invited both candidates to participate in individual forums.
Wednesday: Tuberville at Hotel Capstone
Tuberville’s Tuscaloosa County meet and greet runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hotel Capstone, 320 Paul W. Bryant Drive.
The stop is part of a statewide swing the campaign says will take Tuberville from Florence to Mobile before Election Day, with fish fries, barbecues, rallies and meet and greets on the schedule. His campaign describes the events as a chance for voters to shake his hand and hear his vision for the state.
The Tuscaloosa stop falls between a meet and greet in Wetumpka on October 22 and a Mobile County event on October 20. Tuberville’s campaign has an election night watch party scheduled for November 3 at The Hotel at Auburn University.
Absentee voting in Alabama opened September 9. The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 19. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Learn more and check your registration status on the Secretary of State's website here.
