Motorcyclist Killed in Wreck on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

A collision on a busy Tuscaloosa road claimed the life of a motorcyclist Friday evening, a police spokeswoman has confirmed.

Stephanie Taylor, the public information officer for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said a motorcycle and a car collided on Skyland Boulevard near Sam's Club just after 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Taylor said.

The westbound lanes of Skyland Boulevard were closed Friday evening as police continue to process the scene.
