A Maylene man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Bibb County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Brett M. Whitley, 28, was ejected from the 2010 Toyota Tundra he was driving after the vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees before overturning on Bibb County 24, approximately two miles east of West Blocton.

Sergeant Reginal M. King, a spokesperson for the ALEA State Troopers, said the crash occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday. Whitley was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Maylene is in Shelby County, approximately 50 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa. West Blocton is about 30 miles southeast of Tuscaloosa.
