Katherine Owens Zane (May 19th, 1942- February 1st, 2023)

Katherine Owens Zane, age 80 of Duncanville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama.

The family will hold a visitation on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Magnolia Chapel South.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Lonzo and Stella Owens, husband; Harry Zane, sons; Dennis and Donald Elam, and daughter-in-law; Mindi Elam.

Survivors include her sons; Dale Elam and David Elam (Wendy), daughter-in-law; Doris Golden, grandchildren; Nick Elam(Sarah), Katelyn Brooks (Paul), Hayley Elam, Danielle Daniel, Hannah Golden, Madison Johnson, and Dalton Estes, and her great grandchildren; Luke Elam, Natalie Brooks, Cass Guyton, and Remi Estes.

Katherine was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and she loved her church family. She was retired from Bellsouth (AT&T) and was a member of Telephone Pioneers and CWA.

Pallbearers will be James Gray, Joe Elam, Nick Elam, Dale Elam, David Elam and Steve Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adel Johnson and family, Sarah Ann and Kenneth White, Helen and Raymond Parker, Sonny Owens, Vickie, Johnny and Jean Hatfield, Jan Elam, Connie Gray, Tommy and Diane Wester, Katie and Dawson Dockery, Shirley Morrison, Members of Liberty Baptist Church, Staff and Caregivers of Aspire Physical Recovery Center especially Paula Dukes, Ashley Lancaster Tamara Taylor, Barbara Wider, Heather Hall and Cody Mitchell, and the Staff and Caregivers of Hospice of West Alabama.
