A man is dead after a shooting at Snow Hinton Park in Tuscaloosa Saturday evening, according to a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Stephanie Taylor, TPD's public information officer, said multiple people called dispatchers just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday to report hearing shots fired.

Taylor said officers found a man shot to death near the park's playground in the northeastern end of the park.

Taylor said some callers reporting seeing several vehicles speed away from the area after the shooting

The multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was on the way to the scene at 8:30 p.m., and any further details including the identity of the victim or any suspects will come from the VCU.
