BREAKING: 7 People Shot, 3 Badly Hurt at Event in West Tuscaloosa Saturday Night

Seven people were shot in Tuscaloosa late Saturday night, according to investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.

Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the VCU, told local media around 12:45 a.m. Sunday that police were called to the 2600 block of 22nd Street on a shooting call Saturday.

Sellers said they found seven people had been shot, and he qualified three victims as having serious injuries.

Tuscaloosa Police and VCU investigators are working the scene, which is the largest-scale shooting event in the city in a decade.

No other information has been released.
