School districts across West Alabama announced early dismissals and closures set for Tuesday in response to potential severe weather expected to impact various parts of West Alabama.

Walker County Schools

Walker County Schools announced Monday night it will dismiss at students at 12 p.m. on Tuesday due to the severe weather threat.

Tuscaloosa City Schools

Tuscaloosa City Schools announced Tuesday morning they will dismiss students early  due to the possibility of severe weather. The release states meals and transportation will be provided as a part of the dismissal. Elementary schools, including Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary and the Alberta School of Performing Arts, will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Middle schools will dismiss at 12 p.m. and high schools and S.T.A.R.S. Academy will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. All after school activities are cancelled for Tuesday.

Tuscaloosa County School System

The Tuscaloosa County School System announced they will dismiss all students at 12:30 p.m. with lunch and bus transportation provided. All after school activities are cancelled for Tuesday.

American Christian Academy

According to a post on Twitter, ACA Tuscaloosa will dismiss students at 1:05 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather. All after school activities are cancelled.

Tuscaloosa Academy

Tuscaloosa Academy tweeted the school will dismiss students at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Shelton State Community College

Shelton State announced they will close both of their campuses Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. The post states all activities after that time are cancelled.

Hale County School System

Hale County School System will dismiss students at 12 p.m. Tuesday

Greene County Schools

Greene County Schools will dismiss students beginning at 12 p.m. All after school activities, including the after-school program, are cancelled.

Pickens County School

Pickens County will dismiss students at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday due to the threat of severe weather.

Bibb County Schools

Bibb County Schools will dismiss students at 1 p.m Tuesday. All after school activities are cancelled.

Lamar County Schools

Vernon Elementary in Lamar County will dismiss students at 11:15 a.m. All other schools in the district will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. due to the threat of severe weather.

Fayette County Schools

Fayette County Schools will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday

Focus 50+

Focus 50+, a program from senior citizens, announced they will close programming on Tuesday at 12 p.m.
