A fast-moving band of severe storms is expected to impact West Alabama before dawn Monday morning, and as the National Weather Service in Birmingham homes in on the threats, we'll provide real-time weather updates for our readership and listening area.

3:30 AM:  The last West Alabama Counties have been removed from the watch.

2:30 AM Hale County has also been removed, leaving only Bibb and Perry Counties at risk for this system.

2:15 AM: Tuscaloosa, Greene, and Sumter Counties have been removed from the Tornado Watch.

2:00 AM: Our coverage area is still not quite clear as the NWS continues its Tornado Watch in Bibb, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry Sumter, and Tuscaloosa Counties. 

1:30 AM: The Tornado Watch has expired in Fayette, Pickens, Walker, and Winston Counties.

1:15 AM: Special Weather Statements for Strong Thunderstorms have been issued in Bibb, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Green and Walker Counties, but all those are currently below severe limits. 

1:00 AM: As storms underperform expectations, the National Weather Service is shifting away from Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and back to Special Weather Statements as storms approach individual areas. 

All Warnings in our listening area have been cancelled for now, including those in Tuscaloosa County.

12:55 AM: NWS Expires Warnings for Greene, Fayette, and Sumter Counties as Storms Approach Tuscaloosa

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with these thunderstorms.
