University of Alabama students will need to pick a new weekend study spot, as the Starbucks store inside the Ferguson Student Center will be closing temporarily.

The popular coffee chain faced delivery issues earlier in the week after a winter ice storm overtook West Alabama. Since this Starbucks location is a licensed franchise, not a corporate standalone store, the delivery frequency is different than other locations around town.

"Due to winter storms disrupting scheduled deliveries, the Ferguson Center location of Starbucks Coffee Company will stop service temporarily beginning Saturday, Feb. 20, and will restart service when deliveries resume," a release from UA News stated. "The area will open Monday, Feb. 22, for those wishing to use the area to work or study."

The Bryant Drive location, which is connected to the Corner SUPEStore, will remain open as supplies last, though this location is experiencing the same delivery problems.

Managers at the Starbucks stores on Veterans Memorial Parkway, Skyland Boulevard and inside Target on 13th Street all reported that their respective stores are doing just fine and should not expect any stock issues.

UA students should not worry about feeding their caffeine addiction, however. UA News acknowledged that Dunkin Donuts on McCorvey Drive and Joyful Java in Gorgas Library are both open and operating.
