Tuscaloosa’s Tinsel Trail is Open for Registration
Registration for the 11th annual Tinsel Trail is now open.
As of July 27, businesses and organizations looking to participate in the annual tradition can sign up now to decorate and display a custom Christmas tree.
The Tinsel Trail will be held in Government Plaza for the third year. The trail will be open to the public from November 20, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
The Tinsel Trail website described the event as "a wonderful opportunity to promote your business or organization and celebrate the holidays in a creative, fun way." All sponsorships benefit Tuscaloosa's One Place, which provides resources to local families.
Organizations can also participate by donating a tree to a local school or nonprofit. The event website said the business "will be listed as the sponsor on the signage and the school or nonprofit will be listed as a decorator."
Schools or nonprofits looking for a sponsor can email the event organizers at ttowntinsel@gmail.com to request one.
The Tinsel Trail has multiple pricing levels for sponsors, from the $500 Spruces to the $7500 Santa's Sleigh Presenting Sponsor.
Ashley Cornelius, the Director of Communications for Tuscaloosa's One Place, encouraged participants to sign up soon. "We're already half sold out," she said.
With a little over 220 spots available, that means more than 100 organizations have signed up in just the first week. Participants can register for a tree digitally on the event website.
Cornelius said registration will be open until all the spots are full. "Last year we filled up in October," she revealed.
Even though Tuscaloosa is barely out of July, Cornelius was already excited for the wintertime event. "It has turned to be absolutely magical...people just love it there."
Locals and visitors can see it all again this November.
