TPD Seeks Help Identifying Tuscaloosa Strip Hit-and-Run Suspect
The Tuscaloosa Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the driver of an alleged hit-and-run on the Tuscaloosa Strip.
Traffic cameras picked up a mid-2010s white Acura RDX hitting a 2021 MINI Cooper after turning left into traffic from 15th Avenue onto University Boulevard.
The driver looked to have not checked traffic before trying to make the turn and continued to drive away down University Boulevard after striking the vehicle.
The police department posted photos of the vehicle on its Facebook page, where it is calling for the public's help in finding out who was driving the Acura.
TPD indicated that the incident happened at around 1 a.m. on April 24. Given the evening's rainstorms, the tag number is not clear.
While the driver of the MINI Cooper was not injured, her car did sustain damage to the fender and the wheel.
For those who might have information on the owner of this Acura, call the Tuscaloosa Police Department at 205-349-2121 or call Tuscaloosa Crime Stoppers at 205-752-STOP (7867).
The Tuscaloosa Thread will provide updates to this story with more information as it becomes available.
