A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department said they received more than 70 calls for service in the Strip area after A-Day on Saturday, prompting them to shut down the bar-and-restaurant district before sunset.

More than 10,000 fans watched the Alabama Crimson Tide's annual Spring scrimmage on Saturday afternoon, and large crowds descended on the Strip to eat, drink, and revel after the game.

As some groups loitered, some conduct got disorderly, and a juvenile was found with a firearm, TPD made the call to shut down the Strip before 6 p.m. Saturday, ordering everyone there to leave and not return for the rest of the night.

This is the third time they have done so in four years. Tuscaloosa Police declared the Strip overcrowded after A-Day in 2023 and cleared the sidewalks, and did the same in 2025 after post-game crowds thought they heard a gunshot.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, told local media that during the 12 hours after A-Day 2026, officers handled 72 calls for service within the immediate area surrounding the Strip, conducted 19 traffic stops, and responded to 23 reported offenses.

TPD officers made 11 arrests, and the University of Alabama Police Department made eight more.

Taylor said charges filed include:

TPD Arrests:

1 - Failure to Appear (Adult)
