Described on their website as "an original take on pub classics," Avenue Pub has been operating out of Tuscaloosa since it first opened in 2014.
The restaurant acknowledged the win Thursday, expressing their gratitude in a Facebook post.
"We wouldn't be here without the support of all of our fantastic customers and the dedication of our amazing employees," the post read.
Taste of Home described Avenue Pub’s cheeseburgers in detail on their list. It said, “The gargantuan beef patties are topped with a layer of ooey-gooey provolone and crispy bacon.”
Taste of Home revealed that residents of Tuscaloosa describe the burger as they best they’ve ever eaten. Taste of Home agreed, and said the Avenue Pub cheeseburger is “like heaven on a plate.”
The award for best burger is one of a growing number of accomplishments for the restaurant.
In the past few years, Avenue Pub has opened a second location in Orange Beach, moved to a bigger location in Tuscaloosa, and now has plans for another.
