Cooler temperatures are set to arrive in West Alabama as the calendar marks the official start of fall this Wednesday.

Tuscaloosa and Northport should brace for additional heavy rainfall today as the National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect until 7 p.m. tonight.

Temperatures in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama are set to increase dramatically this week, and many places could see heat index values of 105 degrees of higher.

More rainfall is in the forecast that could potentially exacerbate flooding issues in an already inundated West Alabama.

A developing tropical system could bring five inches of rainfall to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and create dangerous rip currents and flooding issues along the Gulf Coast.
