Sara Williams Malone (November 27th, 1945 – July 12th, 2023)

Sara Williams Malone, age 77, of Northport, Ala., passed away July 12, 2023, at Hospice of West Alabama.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Patrick Cooley officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Magnolia Chapel North.

She was preceded in death by her parents, U. T. Williams and Lillian Williams; brothers, Ely Williams, Robert Williams, Gerald Williams, and Lynnis Williams; sister, Vastie Abernathy; brother-in-law, Marvin Williams; and sister-in-law, Paulene Williams.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Newton M. Malone; daughter, Darlene M. Davis (Don); sisters, Grace Cargile (James) and Catherine Williams; brother, Roy Williams; grandchildren, Noah Davis, Nick Davis, Adam Davis, and Aly Davis; sister-in-law, Shirley Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Sara was born in Fayette County and graduated from Palmetto High School. She worked in Medical Insurance Billing for over 30 years. She loved shopping, sitting on the front porch, and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Noah Davis, Nick Davis, Derek Williams, Marty Cargile, Harold Parker, and Don Wood.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Brookside Drive, Friends’ Sunday School Class of Northport Methodist Church, all the doctors, nurses, and therapy staff of Northport DCH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northport Methodist Church, Hospice of West Alabama, or Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
