MORE CONES: Road Project to Rebuild Highway 11 in Coaling Begins Monday
Road crews working for the state will begin a project to fully rebuild a small portion of U.S. Highway 11 in Tuscaloosa County next week.
John McWilliams, a spokesperson for the Alabama Department of Public Transportation, told local media outlets that the project is expected to begin Monday and go on for nine months.
ALDOT aims to fully rebuild US-11 at Middle Coaling Road and Ed Stephens Road in Coaling to improve mobility in the area.
McWilliams said a contractor, Abramson, was awarded the project at $6.2 million. They will install temporary, portable traffic signals to help manage traffic flow during the project, he said.
McWilliams and ALDOT said motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
