A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly struck a man with a glass bottle and slashed him with a box cutter at a home on Alabama Avenue in West Tuscaloosa last week.

Charles Antonio Washington, 30, was charged with one count of second-degree assault after he allegedly struck the victim in the head with the bottle before slashing him four times in the leg with a box cutter.

Washington was identified as the suspect by his estranged wife, who witnessed the assault.

The victim was taken to DCH where he was given three staples for his head wound and was then treated for the cuts on his leg.

Washington was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail and remained there Wednesday afternoon pending a $5,000 bond.
