Lottie Adams Boggs, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, born November 19, 1922 passed away at home on May 16, 2023. If you do the math, you know that she was 100 years and six months old!! She was proud of her age and was quick to let everyone know.

Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 10:00 -11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastors James Walker and Mark Aills officiating. Burial will be at Memory Hill Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy B. Boggs, parents, James H. Adams, Sr. and Minnie Garner Adams and brother James H. Adams, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Eady (Garry), her son Ronald Boggs (Tammy), her son Donald Boggs (Deborah Woolley), her daughter Sherry Boggs and three grandchildren, April Smith (Jacob), Joshua Boggs and Allen Boggs, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. We can’t leave out her fur babies, Piper and Gracie, who were her constant companions and whom she loved dearly.

Lottie was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She retired from Louis Wiesel department store, and later from Gayfers department store. She was a member of Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene, serving on the Board and as Treasurer for many years. She also taught Children’s Church and so loved planning her lessons and the crafts that her beloved children would create. She was a lifelong fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. We’re sure the neighbors heard her when things didn’t go the Tide’s way… and even when they did!!

Pallbearers will be Garry Eady, Jacob Tutwiler, Joshua Boggs, Mike Adams, Joey Hunter and Allen Averette. Honorary pallbearers are members of Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene, Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Debra Davis, former and current neighbors of South Park, Bootsie Hartley and former employees of Louis Wiesel and Gayfers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene.
