James Gerow Carr (April 15th, 1948 – June 25th, 2022)

James Gerow Carr, age 74, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away June 25, 2022 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Private services will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Carr and Julia Maxine Carr; sister, Nancy Hughes; and brother, Junior Carr.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Carr; brothers, Mike Carr (Sophie) and Larry Carr (Sue); sister-in-law, Karen Swartz (Bill); and nieces and nephews.

James was born in Tampa, Florida. He met and married Peggy while going to UA. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After he finished his Accounting degree at the University, he worked at UAB and retired from there. He was a dedicated husband, brother, and friend.
