Free Workshop Helps Teens Build Job Skills
For many teenagers, landing that first job can feel overwhelming. Knowing how to build a resume, prepare for an interview and present yourself professionally are skills that can make all the difference.
That's why Tuscaloosa's One Place is inviting local students to participate in its upcoming Workforce Workshop for Teens.
The workshop is designed for students ages 13 to 18 who are actively seeking employment or want to begin developing workforce skills that will benefit them in the future.
Participants will receive hands-on guidance in several key areas, including resume building, cover letter writing, mock interviews and workplace professionalism.
Whether a student is preparing to apply for a first job, looking for summer employment or simply wanting to get a head start on future career opportunities, organizers say the workshop is designed to help teens build confidence and practical skills.
The Workforce Workshop for Teens will take place Tuesday, June 16, from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the McKenzie Court Community Room, located at 2525 Lanier Avenue in Tuscaloosa. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
Tuscaloosa's One Place says the goal is to equip young people with the tools they need to succeed both in the workforce and beyond.

Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
Parents interested in registering their teen can sign up through the registration form.
