
Possible Frost Formation in Portions of Alabama, Advisory Issued
“Temperatures as low as 34 degrees are expected and will result in frost formation,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

This has prompted a “Frost Advisory” for portions of Alabama. This advisory goes into place on Thursday, March 16 from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m.

Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Shelby, Sumter, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston.
Advice from the NWS
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
