A Wednesday morning gunfight in west Tuscaloosa injured one man and saw several area homes struck by bullets.

Police are still on the scene and this situation is still developing, but at 9:30 a.m., TPD spokesperson Stephanie Taylor said officers responded to the area of Kaulton Park in west Tuscaloosa after gunshots were reported around 8:45 a.m.

Taylor said multiple shots were fired, potentially by more than one shooter, and a male victim was injured and taken to DCH with injuries that police do not currently consider life-threatening.

Several houses in the area of Elm Street and Pine Street were also struck.

Taylor said TPD is turning the case over to investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who will share any future updates on the shooting.
