Brookwood Man Killed in Tuesday Evening Crash in Tuscaloosa
Tuscaloosa Police are investigating after a deadly crash killed a Brookwood man Tuesday evening.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said they were called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 55th Avenue East and Old Birmingham Highway around 6:30 p.m.
A Ford F-150 had crossed the center lane and struck an on-coming Jeep Wrangler, Taylor said, near the cemetery past Five Points on the way to Hurricane Creek Park. \
Taylor said paramedics with the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue service and Northstar Ambulance responded and tried to provide life-saving care, but the driver of the F-150 did not survive.
She said the driver of the Jeep, a 45-year-old woman from Brookwood, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center and was reportedly in stable condition Wednesday.
UPDATE: Taylor has identified the victim who was killed as 53-year-old Shannon Scott Elmore.
