
University of Alabama Building Evacuated for Removal of Leaning Radio Tower
A building on the campus of the University of Alabama was evacuated Wednesday because of a complication during the planned removal of an iconic radio tower there.
University staff were using the summer lull to remove the radio tower that stands behind Reese Phifer Hall, which houses UA's College of Communication and Information Sciences.

Something went wrong, though, and the tower began to lean further than expected, according to info posted to the schools UA Safety account on X, the platform formerly called Twitter.
