The Troopers do not release identifying information about juveniles who are killed in traffic accidents across the state, but agencies in Hale County said the victim was a student at the High School there.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our students on the evening of October 19th, 2025," principal Ronnie Garner wrote in a post. "He was a beloved member of our school community, known for his kindness, enthusiasm, and bright spirit. This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are broken."

The Sheriff's Office also asked for prayers throughout the community as this news follows the fatal shooting of a Moundville man who was killed by a Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputy after a chase last week.

Garner said counselors will be available for students or staff at Hale County High School if they need help through these difficult times.

UPDATE: Sergeant Reginal King at the ALEA State Troopers has released details about the deadly accident.

He said a 16-year-old juvenile who was in the roadway was critically injured after being struck by a 2018 Ford F-150 being driven by a 76-year-old man from Tuscaloosa.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
