The motorcycle rider, 23-year-old Curtis Duco, collided with a Toyota Corolla a few minutes before 8 p.m. Saturday.

Both vehicles involved in the crash caught fire, according to the police department, and Duco was critically injured and transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The 23-year-old motorcyclist, Duco, died from his injuries on Monday.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said TCSO sheriff's deputies responded to the scene of the accident and rendered aid to those involved.

TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the deadly accident, as they do with any major collision with serious injuries, which does not necessarily indicate suspicion of foul play.
