A west Alabama man has been arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed another man at a convenience store in Greene County on Monday.

Sergeant Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the State Bureau of Investigation took over a homicide investigation at the request of the Forkland Police Department in Greene County.

The killing took place at the Dollar General in Forkland in the 13000 Block of Highway 43, King said. 31-year-old Boris Moody was shot several times inside the store and and died.

After an investigation, the SBI identified 28-year-old Jamal Lee as the suspect in the shooting.

Lee is reportedly from Demopolis in neighboring Marengo County. He was arrested and charged with murder before being placed in the Greene County Jail.

King said additional charges are pending, and the SBI continues to investigate the case. After that wraps up, their findings will be given to the Greene County DA to prosecute.
