Warren served for more than a decade as a prosecuting attorney and has been involved with a number of high-profile prosecutions.

Warren's appointment comes after Walker County District Attorney Bill Adair confirmed today that he had officially retired from his long-held position. Adair, who was known for his support for victims of crime, took office in 2011 and served three terms in the position.

Adair is a graduate of both the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Law. He served in Walker County as an Assistant District Attorney for two years and later as a Chief Deputy District Attorney for 14 years before being elected Walker County District Attorney in 2010. During his time with the District Attorney's Office. Adair prosecuted multiple capital murder cases and the County's first DUI homicide case.

He said he became district attorney because of the murder of his father and thanked residents of the county for their support over the years.

The District Attorney represents the 14th Judicial Circuit of the State of Alabama and prosecutes the felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases that occur in Walker County.
