DCH Sets New Record for COVID-19 Inpatients on Ventilators in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The DCH Health System set a grim new milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday.

The healthcare provider noted in its daily update that 41 patients are currently receiving treatment within the Intensive Care Unit. 36 of those patients have been placed on a ventilator.

The last time DCH's ICU saw 41 COVID-19 patients was January 18; however, at that time, only 16 of those patients were on ventilators.

In total, the DCH Health System is treating 161 inpatients for COVID-19, approximately 84% of whom have not been vaccinated against the virus.
