DCH Health System Reports 12 COVID-19 Related Deaths in One Weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The DCH Health System shared its latest patient update Monday afternoon, revealing 12 additional COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend.

The healthcare provider noted a cumulative total of 627 COVID-related deaths Friday, September 3, and by Monday, that number had climbed to 639.
"This is not an indication of the cause of death, only that the individuals were positive for COVID-19 at the time of death," DCH noted.
Across its three hospitals, DCH is treating 147 COVID-19 inpatients, 38 of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit; 30 of those patients have been placed on a ventilator. Approximately 84% of current inpatients have not been vaccinated against the virus, and approximately 86% of ICU patients are unvaccinated.
