The latest COVID-19 update from DCH shows the health care provider is now treating more patients in its facilities than any other point during the pandemic.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, January 4, DCH is treating 179 inpatients for COVID-19 care, an increase of 28 patients in just one day. The provider also noted that it currently has 39 patients in the intensive care unit. 15 patients have been placed on a ventilator, and 22 patients have required a BiPAP for treatment.

DCH is still in Phase 1a of the Alabama Department of Public Health's COVID-19 vaccination plan. The provider also continues to offer COVID-19 testing in its remote site in the Laundry Lot near DCH Regional Medical Center.
