Six of the eight defendants who face more than 100 felony charges in the Bibb County child sexual abuse case appeared in court today in Centreville. The hearing was one of the monthly procedural hearings leading up to their June trial for allegedly sexually abusing, torturing and trafficking at least 10 children ages three to 15 in an underground storm shelter in Brent.

Appearing today were Olivia Elam, Rebecca Brewer, Dalton Terrell, Sarah Terrell, Ricky Terrell, and William Chase McElroy. Defendants Andres Trejo-Velazquez and Timothy St. John Jr. were the only two absent from the proceedings.

The court appearance was mainly comprised of defense attorneys and prosecutors conferring with the judge concerning procedural matters such as scheduling and other administrative issues.

Previous procedural hearings have produced such findings by the judge as determining that the defendants will be tried in pairs, with two trials conducted simultaneously in separate courtrooms. The first two most likely being Andres Trejo-Velazquez and William Chase McElroy.

Today's hearing mainly produced an April 6 date for the defendant's Rule 6 hearing concerning procedural rules for conducting contested hearings or evidence regarding punitive damages.

The case is being operated under a court gag order however, prosecutors have revealed that the investigation remains active and more arrests are possible. They continue to state that there also may be more victims other than the 10 that have been produced at this point.
