Townsquare Media Traffic Correspondent "Captain" Ray Allen called the wreck "serious" on his social media.

This comes just hours after a pedestrian who was struck by a car on McFarland Boulevard succumbed to his injuries Monday morning.

As of publishing, the southbound lanes of Highway 43 remain closed.

Carpenter could not confirm any fatalities or whether any individuals were transported to receive medical treatment.
