A popular retail chain will soon depart Tuscaloosa's University Mall.

American Eagle, located within the mall, will soon make the move across McFarland Boulevard to Midtown Village.

Midtown Village made the announcement via social media Thursday.

American Eagle has been in its current location in University Mall for the past 14 years, moving to a renovated site away from its previous location near the mall's food court in 2007.

In recent years, retailers like The Gap, Wetseal, Sears, Charlotte Russe, and Gymboree have left University Mall.
