Narcotics Agents Seize 63 Pounds of Weed, $55,000 Cash from Tuscaloosa Home
A Tuscaloosa man is facing multiple felony drug charges after narcotics agents seized more than 60 pounds of marijuana and $55,000 cash from his home Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the West Alabama Narcotics Task In a press release that agents served a search warrant Thursday and found five guns, including three that are likely stolen, 50 grams of MDMA, 29 pounds of marijuana edibles, 34 pounds of unprocessed marijuana and $55,000 cash.
The suspect, Marzette Thomas Jr., 35, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, synthetic marijuana and meth, failure to affix a tax stamp and second-degree receiving stolen property.
He was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond was set at $4.6 million.
Taylor said Thomas is no stranger to law enforcement -- at the time he was taken into custody Thursday, he was serving a three-year sentence in the custody of Tuscaloosa Community Corrections in relation to a 2018 arrest.
