W.F. Camp, age 82 of Northport, passed away July 1, 2022 at Glen Haven Health and Rehabilitation.

Services will be held On Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Bobby Boothe and Brian Hinton officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will follow at Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents; William Perry Camp and Vida Lee Stow Camp, sister; Marguerite Camp Vaughn and brother-in-law; William “Billy” Vaughn sister; Sara Elizabeth Camp, and step mother; Ethel Gray Camp.

Survivors Include his wife Peggy Hinton Camp, sons;
Michael Shane Camp (Susan), Derek Lee Camp (Crystal), grandsons; Andrew Camp, David Camp, Jack Camp, granddaughter; Lauren Camp, nephew; Terry Vaughn (Cathy).

W.F. Camp was born in Tuscaloosa County on November 25, 1939. He graduated Tuscaloosa County High School in 1958 and entered the United States Navy in the same year. Upon completion of 47 months of naval service, he worked his way through school and graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Alabama. He was employed at the University of Alabama from 1964 until 1994 and worked for Northwest Building Supply for many years afterward. W.F. married Peggy Hinton in 1968 and was a loyal and devoted husband to her, father to Shane and Derek, and grandfather to Andrew, Lauren, David and Jack. He was active in the service of Christ through Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church,was a member of J. Collier Foster Masonic Lodge #906, and enjoyed watching Alabama football. W.F. had a quiet generosity and gave freely of his time and resources for those in need and to his family. His presence will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his loving family.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Camp, David Camp,Bill Bolling, Terry Vaughn,Willard Christian, and Steve Bigham.
