UPDATE: Three Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Tuscaloosa County
Officials have now said that three people are dead in a homicide in Tuscaloosa County Thursday morning.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office first first arrived at a residence at Charolais Drive early Thursday morning. The neighborhood is located off Highway 69 South in Tuscaloosa County in the Taylorville area.
Investigators discovered the bodies of a man, a woman and an 8-year old boy inside the home.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said at 6 a.m. his investigators had been called to assist.
Family members at the scene identified the man found dead as the woman's boyfriend. The man is believed to be the shooter, and officials are calling this a murder-suicide.
This marks the first homicide in Tuscaloosa County in 2022. In 2021, The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit's official count marked 22 homicides in the county, the first being on February 18.
