Tuscaloosa’s Midtown Village to Kick Off Holidays with Friday Tree-Lighting
UPDATE: The All Is Bright Celebration has been postponed until November 30th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. due to the rain chances tomorrow.
Don't let this week's warm weather fool you - the holidays are fast approaching, and Tuscaloosa's Midtown Village will kick the season off Friday with its second annual All Is Bright tree-lighting celebration.
Hollyann Bemis, a marketing associate at Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors, said the shopping center will welcome Santa and "perhaps even enjoy a touch of snow," from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The celebration will also feature a live performance by the Tuscaloosa Community Dancers, a live DJ playing Christmas favorites and a wide range of kid-focused activities including face painting, a bounce house, a performing magician and sessions with a caricature artist.
“This was my favorite event at Midtown Village last year,” Bemis said. “This event brought so much laughter and joy to the Tuscaloosa community last year and I’m eager to see it do the same this year!”
Midtown Village's towering Christmas tree will be lit, and a mailbox with a direct line to Santa's headquarters will be installed on the village green so kids can drop off letters to the North Pole for the duration of the season.
Bemis also said all proceeds from All Is Bright will go to the Disabled American Veterans.
