Tuscaloosa's one and only roller derby team will host a recruitment night in hopes that they'll be able to get back on the track for 2021.

Like most all sporting events, the 2020 Druid City Derby (DCD) bout schedule was announced and promptly cancelled due to the pandemic. So far, there has been no schedule released for 2021 but the Dames are looking forward to packing out Super Skate before the year is over.

It is with that hope that they're planning an open recruitment night on Wednesday, June 16th! They will be looking for skaters, referees, and non-skating volunteers. No experience is required and there will be no obligation to sign up for derby that night.

Druid City Derby recruitment nights are not try-outs, they are a chance for you to learn about DCD, roller derby and give it a try! People of all genders, all ages 18+, and all experience levels are welcome, whether you've been skating for years or have never skated before.

Play-by-play announcers will not be sought after since Meg Summers and I have that on-lock!

If you'd like to give it a shot and see if roller derby is for you, show up at Super Skate on June 16th!
